I have recently upgraded my machine. I'm running windowsXP 64-bit. I have sucessfully installed cs1 and all programs work. As I install cs2, the upgrade, I get to the "installation location" at the very beginning of the process I get this error message:

"THE PATH YOU SELECTED FOR INSTALLATION CONTAINS UNSUPPORTED CHARACTERS. PLEASE CHOOSE A DIFFERENT FOLDER FOR INSTALLATION"

I have tried to redirect to a different location but I continue to get the same error message.

The previous user of this computer (which runs Vista 64) installed Adobe Creative Suite CS2 shortly before leaving our company. I'm trying to uninstall the software, but it doesn't appear on the list of Programs and Features.

Revo Uninstaller has the same difficulty as Windows' Programs and Features. Neither utility can locate Illustrator or InDesign.

I was able to uninstall two components, Photoshop and Acrobat Professional, by following this procedure:

1. Locate the program's .msi files in the Windows/Installer folder
2. Right click on the file and choose "Uninstall"
3. Windows Installer pops up and I follow the directions to uninstall

But the same procedure will not work for the other two components, Illustrator and InDesign. When I try it, each program encounters a different problem:

• InDesign: The Windows Installer pops up. I answer "Yes" to "Are you sure you want to uninstall this product?" It runs for a few more seconds, displaying the message "Preparing to remove" before shutting down and giving me this error message: "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed"
• Illustrator: The Windows Installer pops up. I answer "Yes" to "Are you sure you want to uninstall this product?" It runs for a few more seconds, displaying the message "Preparing to remove". Then a User Account Control window pops up and asks me to confirm that I trust this unidentified program from Adobe Systems. If I'm very quick to click the Allow button, I'll get a new window which says "Please wait while Windows configures Adobe Illustrator CS2". But the new window lasts for less than a second before disappearing. If I'm slow to respond to the User Account Control window, the "Please wait..." window doesn't appear at all. Either way, nothing else happens and Illustrator remains installed on the computer.

Good morning,

I have just tried to install CS5 Master Collection on my Windows XP 32-bit machine at work and I can't get it to install anything.

When I try to launch the installer I firstly get this message:

I have tried rebooting my machine numerous times, however I still can't get rid of this message. If I ignore it and continue to install CS5 as a trial I can get to the point where you click the 'Install' button. It prepares to install and after about 1 minute I get a screen telling me "Your installation encountered errors." with an "Exit Code 7" error message. I have included the output of this below.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be wrong? I am aware that various parts of Master Collection require a 64-bit OS, however the Read Me PDF says you can install it on Windows XP 32-bit.

Last week I successfully installed (I thought) my newly downloaded Acrobat CS5 Design Premium.

Today I went to create a PDF - and found no Acrobat installed.

I went to my "Programs and Features" and selected the CS5 installation.  While this gives me the option to De-Activate or remove, it DOES NOT list anything to do with Acrobat Pro.

At first I thought I had chose a version without it - but the 'Compare Suites' indicates that I *should* have Acrobat Pro V9.x

Hi. My OS is Windows Vista. A couple of years ago I purchased CS3 Design Premium. I've only had to reinstall it about 3 times; the disk in in perfect condition. But for some reason, when I go to reinstall all of the products, only two from the disk are successfully installed. The first thing I tried, after receiving the notice that my license was no longer working, was completely uninstalling everything, then doing the recommended "clean" uninstall, downloading a link from this site. Followed instructions about deleting all adobe products, etc. Then tried to reinstall and only two products installed, nothing usable(Photoshop, etc). I repeated this multiple times, variating procedures, but nothing fixed the issues. Then I did a system restore and am now trying to solve this problem without uninstalling(because reinstalling fails), and I get this message that the licensing system has failed catastrophically. I'm not sure if it will help, but I copied the amt file and am posting the report below. I've purchased many adobe products in the past, and i have been generally pleased with them.

However, I downloaded a trial of the CS5.5 Master Collection, and it won't install.

I've followed all of the solutions in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/628980?start=100&tstart=0 , but to no avail.

I've diagnosed the root of the problem, and it's C:\Users\Yunyu\Desktop\MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1\Adobe CS5_5\payloads\Microsoft_VC90_MFCLOC_x86\Microsoft_VC90_MFCLOC_x86.msi won't install.

I get when i try to install, and the registry key trick does not work for me, as there is no registry key.

Win7 Ultimate x64

No antivirus

What should i do?  I've contacted adobe but they don't answer.

I really want to try and buy this product.

I have with the Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html) a install package generated. This package includes Photoshop CS 5.0 Suite with all components (Adobe Bridge CS5, Adobe Device Central CS5, Adobe Extension Manager CS5).

I make a silent installation with the Photoshop CS5 64bit.msi in my package folder. No problem.

After that, I try to make a silent uninstall with the Photoshop CS5 64bit.msi, but it only uninstall the core application Photoshop CS5. All other components like Adobe Bridge CS5 are still installed.

Is there a way to uninstall the complete CS5 Suite with all components?

I succeeded in uninstalling cs5 at the first instance, but i had some problems in my pc so i was forced to restore to whatever dates that were available,though i had created restore points manually which disappeared.Now after restoration even the cs5 is restored & is not uninstalling.The message guided me to use some creative suit cleaning tool but prior to that im told to uninstall cs5 first & thats not happening.Plz help.

I'm having a dialog box pop-up showing "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D:" whenever I try to open any of the CS5 applications. This occurs most often with Photoshop and Acrobat. If I click "Cancel" several dozen times the dialog box will go away and I can proceed to using the programs.

This only happens when I use an Adobe product.

Any ideas how I can correct this problem?

I have been tasked with coming up with a solution for our company.  We have magazine editors and graphic artists who work from home in different cities.  They use indesign, photoshop and incopy along with acrobat etc. Due to the size of the files and the problems that come along with moving them around, we want them to be able to work in a central location. 

In doing some research, does CS6 work well with Terminal Services?  We are looking at 10 users, who remote in over the internet and work on an Indesign project at the same time.   So we would need a beefy server to run this.

i got a new computer in january and installed my copy of adobe cs3 onto it. all of the programs have been working perfectly fine until last week. i opened photoshop to work on a project, and i got an error saying something along the lines of "there is a problem with the license that can only be fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling." photoshop, illustrator, and indesign all gave the same error. once the error popped up, the program would close. i uninstalled all of adobe cs3. when i tried to reinstall, only acrobat 8 will reinstall. the other programs give an error like below:

i need these programs for my classes so if i could have any advice on how to get these components installed back onto my computer, that would be great.

I already installed Photoshop again from the Cloud (Creative Cloud), also from a different language (like American English or just Dutch, using Int. English), but still the same.

Maybe one you knows how to fix? Or had the same issue?

I can find on the website of adobe the free download for CS2. As I only need photoshop cs2 and illustrator cs2 I get an error after installing when I open Photoshop. The error says I'm using an invalid user name or serial number (which I got from adobe next to the CS2 download link??) and then program closes. It strange because Illustrator cs2 works fine. How is this possible??

Is it true that Creactive suit 2 is still free to download via Adobe?

We are trying to deactivate a serial number so that we can use it again. The old machine crashed and the serial number is attached to that machine. We would like to deactivate so that we may reactivate this software. It's CS4. Thanks.

I bought the DVD on Ebay, Adobe CS6 master collection, but it was a pirated copy with the instructions for hacking. ebay experts asked for confirmation from Adobe experts is that a pirate copy of software and then they make refund (seller not answer). I appealed to the Adobe chat but I did not answer. Last hope this forum. I have a picture of DVDs and photo instructions and everything else. But how to make an official confirmation that the DVD is not a license. Help if you can.

I've just switched over to a new machine and I'm trying to install Illustrator CS3, but I'm having all kinds of problems...

The first time I tried it, the installer launched fine and ran through the wizard, but I had screen size issues so my system didn't meet minium requirements.  Fixed that problem.  So I go to install again, and it appears to be working and then right when it gets to 100%, I get this error message:

"You can only install one Adobe product at a time.  Please complete the other installation before attempting to install Adobe Illustrator CS3."

I wasn't trying to install any other Adobe program at the time.  So I go to the "Add and Remove Programs" center in my Control Panel, and sure enough, there is an Adobe CS3 icon there.  I'm assuming its the remnant of my previous install attempt.  So I click "Change/Remove" in an attempt to uninstall it and restart the process from the beginning.  But nothing happens.  My mouse-arrow turns into an hourglass, spins around a couple of times, and turns back into an arrow.  Nothing else happens.

I have downloaded and unzipped the Adobe CS5 Cleanup Script, but when I run the CS5InstallerDatabaseUtility.exe tool, the command prompt screen returns the following message:

"List of products installed on this machine

There is no session to delete."

So it appears that I cannot uninstall the remnant installation, and the cleanup script cannot find it. 

I'm stuck...  Please help!

I have CS5 Design standard installed on a win 7 64bit machine.

The individual programs are used sporadically, and mainly adobe pro and indesign.

Recently i have tried to run illustrator, but as soon as the program starts.

It will crash with a message:

Now i have since discovered that this application manager controls just about everything.

so i can no longer run updates, i can deactivate the license, i cant reinstall or repair.

nothing will work other then i can assume a complete wipe of the system and start fresh.

But as i can deactivate my license i will run into problems there.
