Hello together,
hope my english is good enough to describe the problem.
Last week I bought a new computer with windows7-64bit-operation system (Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1). The last days I wanted to install my Adobe CS4 DESIGN STANDARD which I bought in July 2009. I started the computer, made the first required windows7-settings (time, ...). As far as I understand with no other users created I am the Administrator and have all rights. In the system settings panel (german Systemsteuerung) there is only one user - that is me (Stefan) with admin-rights.
Starting the installation of CS4 there first is running a system check which gives no hints at all that there would be a problem installing CS4 on this computer. So the installation process continues installing several other Adobe CS4 components. Then the CS4-setup stops saying that the "main" programs (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop both 32- and 64-bit) could not be installed. I have the possibility to continue the installation process (more components have been installed) OR quit the setup (nothing more has been installed).
The first time I started the installation from the original Adobe installation CDs. The second time I followed an instruction from an other forum (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2610193) copying all the installation files into a new folder on the desktop. The result was the same, the installation stopped with the same message (Installation of ... not possible).
Question 1: Does Adobe CS4 DESIGN STANDARD *should* run on a windows 7 64-bit computer OR is this NOT POSSIBLE?
Question 2: What must I do (e.g. install a certain driver/tool/...) prior to the installation of CS4?
