Why does the AdobePatchFiles folder pop open at startup?

Hello! This is a sort-of continuation of a discussion that was in a Mac thread, but the my similar problem is actually on Windows XP.

I installed CS5 earlier this month. Since then, after Adobe Updater runs, at the next startup Windows Explorer opens to the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe folder, the only resident of that folder being the AdobePatchFiles directory.

On my PC, this directory isn't big at all (81 MB this time), so no big deal, and it's really more an annoyance than anything else. However, I see no reason why this should pop open in Windows Explorer when I start my PC. This doesn't happen all the time - only after Adobe Updater installs any updates, so I've seen this two or three times since I installed CS5.

On the earlier thread, someone suggested this was happening because Windows Explorer was now set to open that folder as the default. I'm not sure why that would happen in any case, as I have never fiddled with my Windows Explorer settings. But I took a look at those settings - and Windows Explorer was set to open the root drive on my PC, not Program Files\Adobe\Adobe.

So...why does this folder pop open on my desktop at startup?
