CS4 installation problem: Flash/Dreamweaver/Fireworks won't open

Hi, was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm installing Design premium CS4 on 32bit Windows Vista. The installation goes through seemingly alright but then when i try to open Dreamweaver, Flash or Fireworks it brings up an error message saying

"The application failed to initialilze properly (0xc0150004)" with these details

All the other programs work fine, its just those ones that won't even open. I've tried reinstalling in every different way i can think of, without AV, with MS SQL and IIS switched off, from desktop with selective startup, you name it and it still has the same problem.

Can anyone help with what might be causing the problem? not sure if its an installation problem or a windows problem (a setting or something) but i'd really appreciate any ideas anyone might have.

Thanks

tom

Oh yeah, also when i look in install logs it brings up this error

ERROR

which i think refers to the installer freezing when checking the system profile on install but it seems to go through install alright. It also has the following errors.

No Acrobat Pro 9 in CS4 Web Premium?

$

I purchased an upgrade from Studio 8 to CS4 Web Premium via the Adobe Store and downloaded all of the files listed on the download page. When I was done running all of the install programs, which included some add-on fonts and other stuff, I could not find Acrobat Pro 9. After reviewing all of the documentation and searching the KB and forums, I initiated a chat but the agent claimed that he couldn't access those records and told me to call the 800 number. I called but after listening to crummy music for 15 minutes, I hung up. Next, I submitted a Customer Service ticket. The ticket has sat there for 3 days with no response. I've posted a comment each day voicing my frustration, to no avail. Not getting any help, I downloaded Acrobat Pro 9 Pro Trial Edition and installed it, only to find out that my serial number didn't work on that installation of Acrobat Pro. Today I called the 800 number again and got through to a human. Maybe it was a language barrier but I had to repeat everything 3 times and then she would tell me to do something that I just told her I had already done. Finally I was transferred to someone I could understand and who could understand me. I also learned that no Acrobat Pro 9 install except the one with the suite would work so I removed Acrobat 9 Pro Trial Edition. Finally, after many questions and checking everything we could think of, he suggested trying the installer again to see if Acrobat 9 Pro was listed as one of the programs in the suite but just didn't get installed. I found no Acrobat 9 Pro on the list of available software listed on the installer screen. I have updated that second ticket which was started by the final person I spoke to and I sit here waiting. I want my software and want someone to tell me how to obtain the product I paid for! With so many companies finally taking an interest in customer service and support, Adobe sure doesn't seem to be following that trend. This is one of the worst support experiences that I have had for a long time. Granted, I only interact with support systems occasionally but even so... I love the note saying the "We would love to hear from you" but the only method to contact them is by phone. How many people are going to wait for such a long time just to tell someone that they provide poor customer service?

CS4 'Licensing for this product has expired'

This problem relates to a new install. Taken just about the entire weekend to get this problem sorted and still no closer. I have the trial DVD and trying to get to grips with it for evaluation. It's loaded fine on my desktop, but my laptop...totally different story.

I get a message 'Licensing for this product has expired' and I can't run that program. However its only in some programs in CS4 not in all, as other run fine but after doing a reinstall to fix it, the problem just seems to moves to another program; so first time I got it on Illustrator and Dreamweaver and now after reinstall it changes so now its on Flash and Contribute, but all other programs work perfectly well (this has happened 5 or 6 times, Ive reinstalled that often!).

1. I run Vista Home Premium on a new powerful laptop that exceeds all requirements with plenty of spare disk space. Its so new (prob 6 weeks old)that there were just a few new programs on (Office '07 and couple other programs, no Adobe programs except Reader 8.0)

2. The laptop was partitioned by me c=vista d=docs p=program files, and its here on P that I've loaded CS4. I have this same set up on my work desktop which is identical in processor (intel core)and memory/RAM to the laptop and runs CS4 perfectly and was installed from the same DVD (trial version bought from Adobe for evaluation). Problem is need it on the laptop to complete the evaluation, being away from the office

3. I've never moved the installation, its just stayed on P

4. I've not restored

5. I've validated no hardware issues via diagnotics and bad sector checks with professional tools, all other programs work prefectly

6. I check Flexnet is working and started (set to manual)

7. Yes I have permission all run as adminstrator etc..,

8. I've tried running the CS4 programs from Program files/application - makes no difference

9. I've uninstalled (using control panel/uninstall and then the remove tool found on support at http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html) and reinstalled as well as uninstalled and reinstalled via desktop following support tutorial (http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb403963) makes no difference other than moving the error to another program

10. Yes I made sure no other program could interfere during install closing all anti-virus and programs in start-up which might effect this

11. I did try using the adobe support advisor tool - gave no answers or log, and our software supplier said even Adobe reckon its a rubbish tool..

12. Finally I did run the Licensing Repair Tool - no effect (run several times, after reboot)

13. As the disk had just run on my desktop I have to presume the DVD is fine, but cleaned it anyway and it looks fine

I'm out of ideas...

MSVCR80.dll ruined my CS3 Web Premium

Hi,

Something strange happened to my CS3. Several days ago I work as usual with Photoshop and Dreamweaver, when leaving work I let my machine install some Vista patches. The next morning I try to start Photoshop:

Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH
  Application Name:    Photoshop.exe
  Application Version:    10.0.1.0
  Application Timestamp:    470fd6cb
  Fault Module Name:    MSVCR80.dll
  Fault Module Version:    8.0.50727.3053
  Fault Module Timestamp:    4889d619
  Exception Code:    c0000005
  Exception Offset:    00014500
  OS Version:    6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1
  Locale ID:    1031

  Additional Information 3:    ab99
  Additional Information 4:    e8e0eb2a9f6c28b7caad67945479e6c8

And no, restoring the shadow copy created when patching the system didn´t help.

So I tried to reinstall Photoshop. Then I got a message that the installer had a problem installing Dreamweaver. Thinking "WTF?" I tried to start Dreamweaver and nothing happened.

So, when I tried to start DW or Contribute, noting happened. All other programs from my CS3 create this APPCRASH window above.

I tried once again to repair ALL programs using the installer. Installation of Acrobat 8 Professional went fine, all other applications just show the line "Installation failed"

I tried to find a solution in this forum and spent a lot of time swapping all different versions of MSVCR80.dll between all possible locations, but nothing worked.

Can you help me? I´m getting used to Notepad++ and Gimp, but I think it´s not the purpose of such an expensive software suite to teach me how to work with free tools

CS4 and Error Message logtransport2.exe

Last week I uprgaded from Win XP to a clean install of Win 7 Pro 9 (with IE8).  Obviously, I also did a clean install of my CS4 Design Premium. After the CS4 install, an 'error message' window briefly pops up reporting an issue with logtransport2.exe.  That error message occurs periodically when I close out a CS4 program, especially Acrobat 9; when I restart or shut down the PC; and after I installed Premiere Elements 8.  The file logtransport2.exe is definitely and uniquely associated with Adobe software.  Upon performing a Windows search of C Drive, logtransport2.exe appeared in the program folder for each CS4 app and Reader 9.3.

Adobe Support in India offered two solutions that did not work.  The first was to uninstall Reader and not reinstall.  The second was to uninstall CS4, use the Adobe CS4 Clean Script (clean-up utility), and reinstall CS4.  Unfortunately, the error message about logtransport2.exe still appears after both 'fixes' were employed.  Adobe Support of India is now stumped and can offer no further guidance.

The error has not caused any noticeable problems with the operation of my PC or function of CS4 apps.  The error message appears and disappears within 2 seconds. So, it is more of an annoyance.  Even so, it is disconcerting to have this error message appear frequently, especially whenever shutting down or restarting my PC.

Does anyone know what causes the error message?

Can anybody offer a fix?

I thank everyone who offers a solution or reply.

Visiting Adobe Headquarters in San Jose

I live in England but will be visiting the States next month and am for just one day in San Jose. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to visit Adobe Headquarters? I don't have any specific business or particular reason to go there other than that as an Adobe user and lover I'm curious and wonder if there's anything interesting to see. But would I even get as far as being allowed to Park unless I had a legitimate business reason for being there? Can anybody shed any light on this? Many thanks.

After weeks trial Nag still comes back. Is there a fix?

This is installed on a NEW system (Dell XPS 8500 with Win7 Pro) that was purchased for the expressed purpose of installing CS6 Master suite.

So far:

Called on the Phone chated with tech support.

After a long misunderstanding as to my issue in the 30th of July...

----------

JAMES: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
JAMES: there
Kumar: Yes.
Kumar: Okay.
Kumar: In Adobe PCD folder you will get a folder by name Cache.
Kumar: Please rename it to cache.old.
Kumar: Let me know if you are done.
JAMES: DONE
Kumar: Now please launch the product.
JAMES: NOPE still in trial
JAMES: did launch... just sitting there
Kumar: Please continue with the installation.
Kumar: And then click on "Licence the software".
Kumar: Enter serial number there.
JAMES: not an option in trial window it is either
JAMES: Licebnse this software OR Contiue trail
Kumar: May I know the option you are getting there?
Kumar: Please click on "Licence the software".
JAMES: done
Kumar: Enter serial number there.
-------
Kumar apearently still assumed I was getting an error or was in the process of installing... but I entered my serial# as told and problem disapeared for a little while and A couple of days after that I got an interesting trial message after a system restart when I opened Premere:

MASTERCOLECTION-GLITCH.jpg

At that point I Compleatly uninstalled ALL adobe products. Repeated step above and removed any referances to Adobe products that I could find in the registry.

I then Installed my old CS4 suite I upgraded from and then installed the CS6 Master suite upgrade from the disks I purchased directly from Adobe.

Everything worked great for about a week then...

I was greeted with nag screen again today (after a restart when I opened photoshop) informing me that trial expired (-1 days left)

Is there a fix for this?

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this may be happening?

Fonts not appearing in CS3 program font lists

Certain postscript fonts (ZapfDingbats and Rubino Sans) are correctly installed in Windows 7 and available to Microsoft programs (Word and Excel) but not to Adobe programs. That is, they do not appear in any of the CS3 Design Standard applications (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator) font lists when the application is open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the fonts and CS3 to no avail. I have added shortcuts to the Common Files/Adobe/Fonts directory to no avail. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

CS3 won't re-install on Windows 7

I've been using CS3 on my Windows 7 machine for a few months now but then my programs wouldn't open. After trying a few things without success, I decided to uninstall and then re-install it.

The disc runs and it shows that each of the programs is installed but at the bottom it says "CS3 premium didn't install." Whenever I try to open one of the programs, I get a message saying the license has expired.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? If so, how did you resolve it? I've tried all of the suggestions in the knowledge base, but nothing has worked.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quicktime is not installed or is too old of a version. ( 39 :: 0 ) on PSD video

I have CS6 Master and I am running into errors with video in my PSD files.

Basically I have a PSD with video (no effects on it, just straight video). When I play it in Photoshop, it will play fine, but when I import it into Premiere or After Effects it won't play. It plays just as a single frame instead of a video.

There are no import errors when I import it into Premiere, it just doesn't play. When I import it into After Effects it gives me the "Quicktime is not installed or is too old of a version. ( 39 :: 0 )" error.

I have Quicktime 7.7.3 installed. I am on Windows 8 x64 machines. (I get the same errors on both of my machines)

I have done this previously (PSD video) with no problems, but I think it was on Windows 7.

I have tried disabling the firewall as mentioned in http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2011/02/troubleshooting-quicktime-errors-with-after-ef fects.html but it didn't seem to have any effect.
