There is a folder apparently important for Creative Suite

5 licensing: C:\program files (x86)\common files\adobe\adobe pcd

 

Unfortunately the default permissions after installing (either standard install or install from Adobe Enterprise Deployment tools) are:

Everyone: Read

Administrators: Full Control

 

This presents a problem for using the software if your users are not local administrators.

 

If you change the folder permissions to grant access to other users, than launch InDesign and/or Photoshop, the Adobe PCD permissions revert to their original settings.  I have verified that my permissions save fine by closing and reopening the folder permissions.  It's only after a CS5 program is launched that the permissions revert.

 

How can I get the permissions to stay?  Until then I have to make people local admins, which is not good if they find out.  They will install all kinds of crapware and crappy legit software and break their computers further.

Hi Guys

I'm using the Master Collection CS6.

 

I've seen pre-release sales are being taken for Win 8. From what I've seen here, although one or two have installed CS6 on a Win 8 machine for testing, there is no official confirmation that the MC is supported on Win 8. Is this right?

 

I'm thinking of upgrading but I'm anxious about buying the upgrade and spending time on installation if some or all of it falls over...

I have Adobe Master colection CS6 installed on my Desktop, and I updated all the applications without any error. Sometimes I go to option "Help" and go to updates to check for others, and I don´t have any problms with the connection.

But now I installed Adobe Master Collection CS6 on my Laptop, and tried to check for updates, but since 2 days ago, I can´t connect to the update server. All the time I get the message that the Update Manager can´´t be reached, or the firewall rules stops checking for updates. So I checked all the configurations of my Desktop and my Laptop, but I found nothing strange.

Why I get connection with the update center on my Desktop and don´t get it wit my Laptop ?

Both use the same Internet connection.I don´t have wireless, so I disconnect from my desktop to connect to my laptop, but the problem is that I can´t update my products on my laptop.

Why is this happenning ?

What can I do ?

Exists a way to downlad all update by another way and install them manually ?

I have volume licenses for CS3 Design Standard but no media kit for Windows, unfortunately. All attempts at finding this or buying it have failed. I've spoken direct to Adobe and the official solution is to upgrade to CS4! Which really isn't helpful. I've tried upgrading from the trial version of Design Std but that doesn't work.

 

Is there anyone out there with a volume license media kit for CS3 Design Standard on Windows willing to upload it somewhere so I can download it? I'm sure his goes against the EULA for the media kit but the ridiculous thing is I do have the valid volume licenses so it's not like you'd be helping some sort of software pirate!

 

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

Certain postscript fonts (ZapfDingbats and Rubino Sans) are correctly installed in Windows 7 and available to Microsoft programs (Word and Excel) but not to Adobe programs. That is, they do not appear in any of the CS3 Design Standard applications (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator) font lists when the application is open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the fonts and CS3 to no avail. I have added shortcuts to the Common Files/Adobe/Fonts directory to no avail. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I've been using CS3 on my Windows 7 machine for a few months now but then my programs wouldn't open. After trying a few things without success, I decided to uninstall and then re-install it.

 

The disc runs and it shows that each of the programs is installed but at the bottom it says "CS3 premium didn't install." Whenever I try to open one of the programs, I get a message saying the license has expired.

 

Has anyone else experienced something similar? If so, how did you resolve it? I've tried all of the suggestions in the knowledge base, but nothing has worked.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Transfered program to a new computer.  Followed the steps to de-activate program from XP system.  Removed program from XP system.  Installed on new Windows 7 (64) machine.  Entered serial number, activated online and prompted to re-boot.  Did so and now I get "No Valid Acrobat serial number found.  Acrobat will now quit"  At a loss here as I can't launch any of the programs included with this Suite.  Can't even get in to de-activate so I can put it back on the XP system.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So I have the CS5.5 Master Collection and I'm trying to do updates for the following programs:

 

1. Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5 (This update adds integration with the Adobe Product Improvement Program.)
2. Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 (This update includes Flex support for Apple iOS and BlackBerry Tablet OS devices, as well as fixing important bugs.)
3. Adobe InDesign CS5.5 (7.5.1 Update. This update provides key fixes in the areas of Text and PDF export.)
4. Photoshop Camera Raw (Update to the Camera Raw plug-in that ships with Photoshop CS5.  Adds raw support for new camera models.)

 

And the error code I keep getting is as follows:

 

 

There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U43M1D204

 

Anybody know what this error is? I've tried downloading these updates 3 times now.

The subject pretty much covers it. If I do a print screen and then do a paste into Photoshop CS3 it doesn't paste the image from the clipboard. I can paste it into Windows Paint, just fine, but if I try to copy from that and into Photoshop it also doesn't work. Anyone else having this problem? I do screen grabs all the time, so this could be serious.

I tried to install Adobe CS4 Design Premium (upgrade) to my system. It will not install because I keep getting an error message that Internet Explorer is running. However, Internet Explorer is NOT running. I called customer support, but did not get the problem fixed. I even uninstalled Microsoft Internet Explorer, but that did not fix the problem. I am about ready to send this thing back.

I just purchased a new computer. I am trying to install the CS2 premium on the new system, which replaces use of my old system entirely. When I attempt to enter the serial number, I get a message saying it is invalid. I am the only user and this is the only computer I will be using this software on.

Please advise on what I should do to install/activate this software.

Problem:

I just installed CS2 on my Gateway Desktop the other day. I was unable to use CS2 because I maxed out my serial code on another laptop for work. I went a head and deactviated the serial for CS2 and uninstalled it on the laptop. So I could use the CS2 on my Gateway Desktop and transfer the serial code.

 

I go to my Desktop and the CS2 still won't load right.  Okay, so I try to uninstall the CS2.  But there's no uninstall file and it's not showing up in the uninstall manager in Windows 7. So go a head and delete the majority of the CS2 in my program files and then try reinstall a fresh copy of CS2.  I get an error "missing or invalid personalization information missing resource library."

 

How can I get around that new error? So I can reinstall a working copy of CS2 on my desktop. It's a bit frustrating.  Anybody experience the same problem?   Any insight would be great.  Thanks

I upgraded from CS5.5 to CS6 by a clean install using the Adobe uninstallers. I have never had any problems with any upgrade before as I was about to experience with this one.

 

The following applications crashed while exploring the application:

• Adobe Bridge, when I wanted to open a folder to explore my harddrive. The faulting module is: MMXCore.8BX_unloaded, wpdshext.dll and ntdll.dll
• Fireworks and DreamWeaver, when I wanted to use mini Bridge on module: BIB.dll

 

The following applications could not even start:

• InDesign crashed just after loading all plugins on KERNALBASE.dll and MSVCR100.dll.
• Photoshop refused to start and gave a warning about privileges on a scratch file. I tried to remove the settings file when starting the application using the CTRL ALT SHFT keys, but it did not work

 

This was a very unwelcoming introduction to CS6. Fortunately, all problems went away after I gave each application in the suite elevated privileges by turing with the ""run this program as an administrator" option in my Windows 7 HP system. The problem with Photoshop gave me hints in that direction.

 

Is this issues known? If elevated privileges are required, why was it not included in the installer script?

I got this error ("cannot update Insertbar.xml" error code 1) when trying to install "Photo Gallery for Dreamweaver" by _WebStunning.com_ from the Adobe exchange.

Its the only free photo gallery available there. I can download and install other extensions, and they are included on the end of my insertbar.xml file. Why this particular one does not work has me puzzled.

The new exchange panel is a major disappointment like much of Adobe's products these days. (the spellchecker on this forum is an example - it covers up the suggested spellings with another panel for some reason)

I am using Windows 8.1 and the last available version of CS6 (not the cloud version)

Has anyone had this problem?

For reference, I have a Lenovo X200 Tablet PC, running Windows 7 and Creative Suite 3 Design Standard.

 

Last Friday, 9/23, I tried opening Illustrator and received an error message that told me to uninstall then reinstall the program. I received the same error message with InDesign and Photoshop. All three programs had, up to this point, been working fine.

 

I uninstalled CS3, restarted my computer, and attempted to reinstall. The shared components installed fine, but Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Version Cue, etc. did not install, and gave me the "Component install failed" error message.

 

I went through the list on this Support page.

I tried all of the Solutions except the ones based upon Windows Event Viewer error numbers (as my Event Viewer didn't show any of the listed numbers).

 

I didn't install any updates or download anything between the last time CS3 worked and when it failed on Friday, so I'm not sure what caused it to fail in the first place.

 

If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I'd appreciate it.

I've purchased many adobe products in the past, and i have been generally pleased with them.

 

However, I downloaded a trial of the CS5.5 Master Collection, and it won't install.

 

I've followed all of the solutions in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/628980?start=100&tstart=0 , but to no avail.

 

I've diagnosed the root of the problem, and it's C:\Users\Yunyu\Desktop\MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1\Adobe CS5_5\payloads\Microsoft_VC90_MFCLOC_x86\Microsoft_VC90_MFCLOC_x86.msi won't install.

 

I get when i try to install, and the registry key trick does not work for me, as there is no registry key.

 

Win7 Ultimate x64

No antivirus

 

What should i do?  I've contacted adobe but they don't answer.

 

I really want to try and buy this product.
