Adobe Update Error

0
0

So I have the CS5.5 Master Collection and I'm trying to do updates for the following programs:

  1. Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5 (This update adds integration with the Adobe Product Improvement Program.)
  2. Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 (This update includes Flex support for Apple iOS and BlackBerry Tablet OS devices, as well as fixing important bugs.)
  3. Adobe InDesign CS5.5 (7.5.1 Update. This update provides key fixes in the areas of Text and PDF export.)
  4. Photoshop Camera Raw (Update to the Camera Raw plug-in that ships with Photoshop CS5.  Adds raw support for new camera models.)

And the error code I keep getting is as follows:

There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U43M1D204

Anybody know what this error is? I've tried downloading these updates 3 times now.

Thanks for any feedback,

Thomas

Adobe, please make a formal statement about "free" CS2

Folks, we have heard the whole gambit of ideas and discussions concerning Adobe's "giveaway" of CS2.

To my knowledge, there has only ever been ONE SINGLE post about CS2 NOT being released for free - and that post was in a FORUM. InDesign Secrets picked up on that one post and repeated what was said there.  On Adobe's CS2 download page, there is NOTHING said one way or the other.  Forum statements are always on a personal level - they are NOT a professional solution for official announcements, and should not be regarded as such.

Adobe, could you please be so kind as to issue a formal statement?

There are many people out there who would use CS2 if it were released for free - folks who will never purchase the newer versions - folks who normally use only freeware.  It would be a great benefit to those folks, and it would increase your popularity, and you might even make sales with those people once they get used to your products.

I, myself have a license for CS3 Premium, CS4 Standard, InDesign CS2, but I would recommend CS2 to other folks to use instead of GIMP or other freeware.  In fact, when the word went out, I was surprised and pleased and wrote to my friends.  Then I had second thoughts and had to tell them "never mind - I was misled".  Now, after reading the posts in this here forum, I am somewhat bewildered and confused.

Please make a formal statement about this!

CS4 English International vs English US

Where can I find info on the difference between installations of "English-International" and "English-US"

When I go to install CS4 Premium, after putting in the serial number, and clicking "accept", the next screen that comes up has a grayed out box that says "English, International".

If I go "back" and select to install as "trial" version and go to the previous, (the next screen after "accept" license), I have options to install as "English-US" or "English-International".

I stopped my attempt to install until I can resolve this issue.

I could attempt to install as trial "English-US" and then after install, attempt to activate with the serial number, but I hesitate to do this.

Please advise asap. Please direct me to Adobe tech info on the differences of the two versions.

Thanks,

RPP

Adobe Anchor Service CS4 Error 1612. The installation source for this product is not available.

Hi,

I've been trying to install CS4 Design Premium, except that I got this message:

Adobe Anchor Service CS4
Error:
Error 1612. The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

What is wrong and how do I fix it? I've installed this on my sister's laptop as well, but I've already uninstall it. Could this be the reason why?

Help appreciated, thanks!

Web Premium CS5 updates fail

FIRST, I use these Forum post rarely and I hope this is the correct section of the Forum to address my and if not would someone please either let me know so I can possibly re-post to whichever is the correct section?

The Adobe Application Manger shows that I have multiple updates available for my Web Premium CS5 Suite, but when I try (and have several times) they all fail. Each individual product states the reason as 'There was error downloading this update. Please quite and try again later'. I have had the Adobe Suite installed on two desktop machines (1) Inter(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @3.40 Hz, 23 GB RAM, W7 Pro 64-bit (2) AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1100T Processor 3.32 GHz, 16 GB RAM, W7 Pro 64-bit for some time. I get the same error result on both machines when updating is attempted. This problem started a few weeks ago and I have not had any prior problem with updating any of my numerous Adobe software products before. My product S/N:[deleted by moderator]. I just had a useless 'CHAT' with one of your "off-shore" support personnel who was, as no surprise, of no help whatsoever and referred me to this Form... hence this message.

I hope someone can help resolve this problem. Although the different programs work 'as is' it is always best to keep each program with the latest updates. Robert Lawrence, owner - Digital San Diego digitalsandiego@gmail.com

CS3 Refuses trial period

Setup:
Athlon64 3400+ 2.2Ghz
Windows XP Pro (32 bit) virgin install with all updates and sp/2

I see there are plenty of posts here about problemsinstalling CS3 suite. I too had no luck on 3 separate machines. I'd ordered the Trial CD set for $20 and have working versions of Production Studio CS2 on 2 machines so after trying the install on three machine and more than once on each it would just stall out or never finish.

I spent a day trying some of the fixes I'd read about.. None of that is relevant here. But to cut to the chase... I just gave up on installing it and was busy with video productions.

A few weeks have gone by and for other reasons I happened to do a clean full windows XP install. My Media disk (Windows XP pro), is a bit old so doesn't have sp/2. But once installed, I upgraded to sp/2 and all updates without problems.

I happened to notice my CS3 suite install Discs put aside and thought hey... I wonder if that darn thing might install on this virgin machine.

It installed without a single issue. I was just rejoicing as the reboot started and was thinking about taking back all those bad things I thought about adobe.

I eagerly fired up the new pristine photoshop and got the expected screen to put in a serial number or click on the `trial' radio button.

Clicked the radio button and got a second screen advising me there had been a problem:

===========
> A problem was encountered while trying to load the trial period for Adobe Creative Suite.

> Click quit to see if restarting your computer or reinstalling the software will correct this problem. Otherwise click `continue' to display a screen where you can enter a valid serial number to begin using the product without trial.

============

Dog gone it... just when I thought I had it made.

I tried only the first suggested remedy of rebooting again ... I doubt reinstall of the software will fix it either really and the reinstall is quite time consuming.

None of the other posts I've scanned though here seemed to have encountered this... has anyone here seen this and more over have an idea how to proceed with the trial?

At this point I'm left with large pile useless shortcuts and quite a lot of HDD devoted to unusable software.

Script error when installing creative suite 4

I've been trying to work this one out for days.

I uninstalled the creative suite to see if it would help download dreamweaver(I've since given up on dreamweaver for the time being). So when I tried to re-install creative suite an error message popped up right after the components page when I click next.

Internet Explorer Script Error

An error has occured in the script on this page

Line: 1879

Char: 2

Error: 'id' is null or not an object

Code: 0

URL: file:///C:/program%20files/common%20files/adobe/installers/1e3ba55b33b1e8227645fbac82acca 3/resources/common/scripts/utils.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

Yes/No

It makes no difference whether I click yes or no. On the next page it freezes at 'preparing to install'. This has happened everytime.

Urgent help needed!

Can I safely delete Adobe\AdobePatchFiles ?

0

Hi!

Because my free space on one of my drives was noticeably shrinking without knowing I did install anything new on that drive I did analyze the drive folders and found this folder which is quite big:

F:\Adobe\Adobe\AdobePatchFiles\

Over 400MB.

I would like to know if I can recover the free space by deleting this folder, because I really don't want to lose free space on a hard drive without that I self install a new software or copy new files there. Following the hardware requirements the CS suite declared certain free disk space for hardware requirement of a new installation. But from this it looks that the free disk space requirement is unlimited as the AdobePatchFiles folder seems to constantly grow!! How does the CS software handle situation when the free space drops to zero due to AdobePatchFiles overbloating?

Can anyone tell me if my laptop will run CS6 Design Standard Smoothly?

I wasn't a 100% certain and I don't want to buy the product and not have it work. I am a student but as far as I know that wouldn't effect the specs.

Here is my laptops specs:

Model: ASUS Notebook K53E Series

Windows 7, Service Pack 1

Processor: Intel Core i3-2350M CPU at 2.3 GHz

Ram: 4 GB

System: 64-bit

I'm not worried about the disk space. I have plenty of that. But I wasn't sure if my processor or ram is enough. Any help is awesome. Thanks.

Reinstall the Master Suite CS5.5 onto Windows 8.1?

How do I reinstall the Master Suite CS5.5 onto my new computer with Windows 8.1?

CS3 Won't Run, Uninstall or Deactivate, Can't Reinstall; Junked.

Windows XP Pro SP2
2GB Ram
Adobe CS3 Production Premium

Thanks to Adobe's new licensing system I have a $1700 production suite that is completely useless.

After a few weeks of working fine, it suddenly decided, for reasons unknown, to cease working. With the exception of Acrobat Reader, no portion of CS3 suite will load, all crash out with an error during the loading process, all with what appears to be an issue related to Flexnet licensing.

I've tried following the crazy instructions regarding removing it, but not even Windows' Add/Remov eprograms can remove it because it needs to be deactivated first, but I can't do that because I can't load any CS3 application to deactivate it.

When I tried manually removing all traces of CS3, including all the registry hacks Adobe barbarically suggests (rather inelegant for a supposedly industry profrssional product) the reinstallation goes awry and after it finally finishes, all applications still fail because it is supposedly not activated properly.

At this point I can only assume that the product is merely junk and that Adobe simply does not care. (they have not suggested a real solution, only clumsy and idiotic suggestions to remove it manually and reinstall over and over).

My last recourse is to completely format my hard drive, and completely reinstall Windows XP SP2 which is a major undertaking in and of itself, entailing a massive backup and reinstallation of all my software, as well as all my project and business information.

Adobe (and Photoshop) have truly gone downhill since Photoshop 7, and I see very little of any value or worth in this "Creative Suite" as the only thing it seems to create is frustration and additional problems. Is this sort of licensing really stopping software pirates? Am I supposed to suffer through lost contracts and countless hours of frustration after paying nearly $2000 for the software so that some pirate can't use it? Why don't they have a standalone application that can handle activation/deactivation and installation repair? Flexnet is practically a system crippling virus. And why did the add/remove wizard force me to shut down Yahoo messenger before it could run, and then tell me it couldn't do anything anyway?

This software is junk. Now I am forced to find a new product to edit my digital photography and create web and video content (hopefully for less than the $2000 I wasted on these discs that are now only good as beer coasters).

CS5, Windows 7, and Guests Group

0

Due to security policies and the functionality of automatically deleting profiles on logout, we are required to put all Domain Users into the local Guests group.  Effectively this is all of our users.  In the past using Windows XP and Vista we have not experienced any problems with software by putting our users in the Guests group.  With the release of the CS5 Suite it appears a check is being made at startup to see if the user starting the software is a member of Guests and if they are it will refuse to start.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to disable this check?  Both CS3 qand CS4 Suites worked just fine and we literally have hundreds of applications that are running with these settings.  The only softwar that is throwing and error is the Adobe CS5 Suite.

Thank you in advance.

Did I just bought an OEM version of the Creative Suite?

0

Hi All,

I recently bought and just received two copies of the Adobe Creative Suite 3, Web Premium. I have bought it through eBay from a very legimate software seller (100% positive feedback, 3296 ratings).

When I look at the back of the case I've received, a label states '90086876 DVS/A,STWD,3.0,WIN,ED,WWE,OEMBD'. Picture of the case can be seen at the end of this post. (The software came in a shrink-wrapped case)

What concerns me, is the word OEMDB. Does this mean that I have bought an OEM version of this software? Adobe states in his piracy FAQ that it is illegal to install an OEM version of the software on a computer other than the one on which the software came with. But what confuses me, is that I read elsewere on this forum that an OEM version of the Adobe Creative Suite does not exist, I really would like to know if this software is 100% legal, because I do not want to work with illegal software.

Also, the software was located in the USA, and is shipped to me in The Netherlands. Will that give any problems, too?

Thanks in advance,
Mark
