Installed fonts not recognized by CS software

0
0

I have a number of PostScript fonts installed in my Windows 7 computer. All of them are accessable via Wordpad, MS Word, and other programs. However, none of my Adobe programs recognize them all - this includes InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator (in Creative Suite), and Photoshop 5.5.

These are not exotic fonts. In fact, the Adobe graphics programs recognize some odd fonts that I'll probably never use, including Mandarin, Korean, Arabic, etc.

What must I do to get the Adobe software to recognize all of my installed fonts?

How do I reinstall the Master Suite CS5.5 onto my new computer with Windows 8.1?

Adobe CS4 Trial Download

I have a new laptop I'd like to get work done on, but it has no CD drive (why is this becoming the norm??) and it would appear that the only link to download the Adobe Master Collection CS4 trials is broken (and clearly not meant to actually still exist at all). Is there anywhere still offering the download of the trials so I can activate them with my old serial number?

Thank you in advance.

CS4 Installation Problems

I tried to install Adobe CS4 Design Premium (upgrade) to my system. It will not install because I keep getting an error message that Internet Explorer is running. However, Internet Explorer is NOT running. I called customer support, but did not get the problem fixed. I even uninstalled Microsoft Internet Explorer, but that did not fix the problem. I am about ready to send this thing back.

CS4 English International vs English US

Where can I find info on the difference between installations of "English-International" and "English-US"

When I go to install CS4 Premium, after putting in the serial number, and clicking "accept", the next screen that comes up has a grayed out box that says "English, International".

If I go "back" and select to install as "trial" version and go to the previous, (the next screen after "accept" license), I have options to install as "English-US" or "English-International".

I stopped my attempt to install until I can resolve this issue.

I could attempt to install as trial "English-US" and then after install, attempt to activate with the serial number, but I hesitate to do this.

Please advise asap. Please direct me to Adobe tech info on the differences of the two versions.

Thanks,

RPP

Windows Clipboard won't paste in Photoshop CS3

The subject pretty much covers it. If I do a print screen and then do a paste into Photoshop CS3 it doesn't paste the image from the clipboard. I can paste it into Windows Paint, just fine, but if I try to copy from that and into Photoshop it also doesn't work. Anyone else having this problem? I do screen grabs all the time, so this could be serious.

problem with getting CS3 to work in windows 7 64-bit

My old XP computer (which I had CS3 installed) died and I bought a HP laptop with win 7 64-bit preinstalled. During installation of CS3, at about 75%, a warning popped up that said "adobepdf.dll is needed, pls insert the vista CD" . Since I don't have vista and I am using win 7, I hit ca
ncel and the installation continued with no problem, apparently.

After the installation is finished. When I tried to open Photoshop and acrobat, the program attempted to load up (I was able to see the grey screen of photoshop, but no logo) and would become "not responding" almost immediately and just stalled. With illustrator and indesign, I don't even see any screen, as if the computer just ignored me. However, under the "processes" tab in task manager, I could see the .exe files listed as "processes" but nothing under the "applications" tab. I checked the memory and it's obvious that memory usage has gone up once I tried to open the apps. Seems like the apps are taking up memory but did not appear. The only program that runs successfully is bridge.

adobe rep told me: Please follow the steps given  below:

Insert the Windows 7 CD-ROM to find AdobePDF.dll, go to the
AdobePDF.dll_64 in DATA1.CAB which is included in the Adobe install file
s. Copy the file to your system and rename it AdobePDF.dll and then install it.

Since I don't have the w7 cd (HP computer comes presintalled and doesn't include an OEM win7 disc) and I can't do the above. Plus, I am not sure my problem could be solved by the above. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CS5 Design Premium Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error

Hallo,

I've tried to install today CS5 Design Premium. The installation was without any problems BUT I'm NOT able to open a program!!!

I always get the error message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesing CS5\InDesign.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Some Utility programs like Bridge or Device Central can be opened but no major application, like InDesign, Photoshop, etc..

I've called with the Adobe Technical Support but they had no knowledge of this problem and can't be of help. Although they recommended me a lot of solutions. The support was fine but no solution worked.

I use Windows XP SP3, 1TB hard drive, 4 GB RAM, Intel Core2 Quad processor. I use divers utility programs to have always a clear system. I had never such a problem before.

Can anyone give me a workable solution?

Thanks

Adobe Updater CS3

Under Windows 7 x64 I launch Adobe Photoshop CS3/v10.0.0 and then open Adobe Update Manager and always get the following error.

There are no updates available at this time,

Please note that some updates for the following productions cannot be determined at this time: Adobe Updater

I've never had this problem before with CS3 or Win7 x64, I lost my system drive, replaced with a new one, did a system restore of my personal files, installed CS3 and it refuses to update. I've downloaded the latest version of Adobe Update Manager from adobe's site and did a manual install, but this still did not fix the issue.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Master Collection CS6 Ready for Win 8?

Hi Guys

I'm using the Master Collection CS6.

I've seen pre-release sales are being taken for Win 8. From what I've seen here, although one or two have installed CS6 on a Win 8 machine for testing, there is no official confirmation that the MC is supported on Win 8. Is this right?

I'm thinking of upgrading but I'm anxious about buying the upgrade and spending time on installation if some or all of it falls over...

Activation problems with CS3 and PS6

0

I own CS3 standard edition for Windows. Recently I upgraded Photoshop only to CS6.

All works well with PS/CS6. However, when I go back to use CS3 applications, the programs won't run. In Acrobat - the program I'm trying to run now - I get the error "Adobe Acrobat 8.1.3 cannot be launched..." and am told to open another CS3 program. I tried that, only to be told my CS3 is no longer registered.

I got out the CS3 disks, entered the serial number, and am now told I have too many activations. This makes no sense at all, as I just removed CS3 from my laptop.

Can someone tell me how I can run my CS3 programs with PS/CS6? I cannot afford to update the whole suite; that's just not an option.

Thanks,

Ed B

Can I add codecs to Adobe Media Converter?

0

I have two marketing professionals who from time to time have to convert media that a third party sends us to a format we can post on our internal intranet site.  Being a mix of Windows XP and Windows 7, the most common format that will play in browser is WMV.  One person can convert to WMV and a whole boatload of other formats are also available in the format column.  Another person only has a few things in their format column like FLV and MPEG4.  We tried the MPEG4 option and we copied the file to our intranet webserver and followed code guidelines here: http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_videos.asp but Windows XP clients using IE7 or 8 cannot playback the file.  The only thing that seems to work for IE7/8 XP users is using this mess of code here: http://www.mediacollege.com/video/format/windows-media/streaming/embed.html  and ensuring that the video file is in WMV format.

So basically we need to add a way for the other person to get all the additional formats... really just the WMV format.  The origninal file is a mov file and can be well over 100+ MB.  The WMV file is about 20-30 MB and on a LAN is is much better than 100+ mb.  Plus WMV just natively works without installing additional software on 100+ employees machines.

Thank you for your help.

Adobe CS3 Production Premium

Thanks to Adobe's new licensing system I have a $1700 production suite that is completely useless.

After a few weeks of working fine, it suddenly decided, for reasons unknown, to cease working. With the exception of Acrobat Reader, no portion of CS3 suite will load, all crash out with an error during the loading process, all with what appears to be an issue related to Flexnet licensing.

I've tried following the crazy instructions regarding removing it, but not even Windows' Add/Remov eprograms can remove it because it needs to be deactivated first, but I can't do that because I can't load any CS3 application to deactivate it.

When I tried manually removing all traces of CS3, including all the registry hacks Adobe barbarically suggests (rather inelegant for a supposedly industry profrssional product) the reinstallation goes awry and after it finally finishes, all applications still fail because it is supposedly not activated properly.

At this point I can only assume that the product is merely junk and that Adobe simply does not care. (they have not suggested a real solution, only clumsy and idiotic suggestions to remove it manually and reinstall over and over).

My last recourse is to completely format my hard drive, and completely reinstall Windows XP SP2 which is a major undertaking in and of itself, entailing a massive backup and reinstallation of all my software, as well as all my project and business information.

Adobe (and Photoshop) have truly gone downhill since Photoshop 7, and I see very little of any value or worth in this "Creative Suite" as the only thing it seems to create is frustration and additional problems. Is this sort of licensing really stopping software pirates? Am I supposed to suffer through lost contracts and countless hours of frustration after paying nearly $2000 for the software so that some pirate can't use it? Why don't they have a standalone application that can handle activation/deactivation and installation repair? Flexnet is practically a system crippling virus. And why did the add/remove wizard force me to shut down Yahoo messenger before it could run, and then tell me it couldn't do anything anyway?

This software is junk. Now I am forced to find a new product to edit my digital photography and create web and video content (hopefully for less than the $2000 I wasted on these discs that are now only good as beer coasters).

acrobat not activated as part of CS4?

0

Installed and activated CS4 Std, running on Vista Ult x64.

EVERY time I run Acrobat Pro 9.1.0, I get a popup that says:

Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another component of this suite (such as Adobe Photoshop).

When I click on the OK button, Acrobat closes down.

Of course, running the Photoshop 'component' (already activated, of course) either before, during, or after Acrobat makes no difference whatsoever.

I don't remember this problem coming up before the recent download and installation of the Acrobat 9.1.0 update... and yes, I *did* reboot the machine to complete the update installation.

Any clues or hints?

Thanks, in advance!

Did I just bought an OEM version of the Creative Suite?

0
0

Hi All,

I recently bought and just received two copies of the Adobe Creative Suite 3, Web Premium. I have bought it through eBay from a very legimate software seller (100% positive feedback, 3296 ratings).

When I look at the back of the case I've received, a label states '90086876 DVS/A,STWD,3.0,WIN,ED,WWE,OEMBD'. Picture of the case can be seen at the end of this post. (The software came in a shrink-wrapped case)

What concerns me, is the word OEMDB. Does this mean that I have bought an OEM version of this software? Adobe states in his piracy FAQ that it is illegal to install an OEM version of the software on a computer other than the one on which the software came with. But what confuses me, is that I read elsewere on this forum that an OEM version of the Adobe Creative Suite does not exist, I really would like to know if this software is 100% legal, because I do not want to work with illegal software.

Also, the software was located in the USA, and is shipped to me in The Netherlands. Will that give any problems, too?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

"missing or invalid personalization information missing resource library" On CS2

0

Problem:

I just installed CS2 on my Gateway Desktop the other day. I was unable to use CS2 because I maxed out my serial code on another laptop for work. I went a head and deactviated the serial for CS2 and uninstalled it on the laptop. So I could use the CS2 on my Gateway Desktop and transfer the serial code.

I go to my Desktop and the CS2 still won't load right.  Okay, so I try to uninstall the CS2.  But there's no uninstall file and it's not showing up in the uninstall manager in Windows 7. So go a head and delete the majority of the CS2 in my program files and then try reinstall a fresh copy of CS2.  I get an error "missing or invalid personalization information missing resource library."

How can I get around that new error? So I can reinstall a working copy of CS2 on my desktop. It's a bit frustrating.  Anybody experience the same problem?   Any insight would be great.  Thanks

CS5 Web Premium has to be ran as administrator?

0
0

I am having some difficulties getting a trial version of CS5 web premium running on my new Windows 7 64bit workstation.

I downloaded the installer from Adobe.  Ran it and all seemed ok until I tried to start an application.  I started getting Error 213:11.

Following some advice if found on this site through Google, I uninstalled every piece of Adobe software I had, I ran a CS5 cleanup script provided by Adobe and re-installed CS5.  No change.

Following this Tech note: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/835/cpsid_83576.html, I changed the permissions on the indicated folder to not be read only.  No Change.

I used the "Run as Administrator" option on a program.  And it worked.  I closed the program and started it normally, same error code but after the program started not before it started as previously happened.  Set the program to run as administrator in the compatibility options and it starts.  Started another program in the suite that I had not previously started and it gets the Error 212:11, but after the program starts again.

Why would I have to run all these programs as an adminstrator?  I try to follow the best practice of not using the computer as an administrator when I don't need to be!  Is this going to change when I apply our license key after it arrives from our Maintaince program an a couple of weeks?
